Chapter 2

▬▬▬▬▬

My stomach growls as I silently observe their village. I twirl my blades, their harsh glow illuminating the forest around me. My eyes focus on the bright silhouettes of the moon elves. The moon elves are weak, pathetic creatures.

Their huge ego turned around and ate them up. Night Elves now rule this land, and we aim to make them as miserable as they can possibly be. Any smiling elf would be considered to get off with 60 whippings. Most are humiliated in public and then killed after they have suffered enough.

I watch as they stroll around their crappy shelters, mouths set into grim lines. They wander aimlessly, no doubt thinking about their mistake. Here's a brief history lesson.

There are 8 planets in your solar system correct? 500 years ago, Earth was raided by the KoD. They failed to hold their ground and the beans were wiped of the face of the Earth. Literally. They made a huge paper towel and wiped 'em off. We then raided Venus and Mars, simultaneously gaining two more planets for us. There was no resistance on either planets, though we found a whole ton of Wallys on the rusty surface. At this time, night elves were outcasts. Any night elf spotted would be killed on sight.

Peace was made 100 years after we took over Mars and Venus, leaving the Elven Garde as the most powerful race for a century. (Remember, this is 400 years ago) Disaster struck. The Occult launched an attack on Jupiter, the largest planet in the solar system.

Meanwhile, the night elves banded together, revolting as one. Success. The moon elves had just launched a ship with half their population, leaving their weak ones behind. The night elves, battle hardened, wiped out most of the remaining elves, chasing the rest off into hiding. Did I mention that I led the charge?

Anyways, the moon elves also lost the fight on Jupiter. They had no chance. Although we are powerful with our ability to use magic and physical damage, the Occult are the most powerful. Their burst damage can kill a hero in a second.

The weary elves returned to find their magnificent city in ruins. The white pearl buildings crumbling into dust. Ashes choking their lungs. Night elves can deal with the smoke and ash. We have an ability to turn immune for a few seconds. You don't have to have elf ears to classify as a member of our society.

Such is true for Lapu-Lapu, chief elder of the Garde. The universe houses two gods. Rafaela, the Fertility Goddess, and Argus, the Fallen Angel. We worship Argus, by far the stronger god. Another example? Natalia. She is my second in command, running like the wind in that cloak of hers with those long, malicious golden claws.

300 years ago, the KoD pulled off a massive siege on Saturn and Uranus, as well as Pluto. High resistance on all those planets, species unknown. They were unwilling to let us learn the details.

Then, 50 years ago, the Malefic City was attacked by an unknown party named Lord. Though we are all rivals, we all belong to the same category: Heroes. Users of magic and physical power.

At first, everybody thought that the Malefic City would end the war in a few months. They were the top party back then. Everybody was wrong. The war lasted decades, and their city soon withered. Word around is that Lord has found a new accomplice, the Turtle.

Years passed, no news came from the city. Nobody knew if they would survive.

Layla, the strongest hero of the Malefic City, was not to be found. Nobody sent reinforcements to the place.

Quite frankly, it wouldn't have been worth it. Sure, Layla was one of the strongest heroes of all times, and maybe if we had the Malefic City would still be standing, but nobody else was of much value, so we let it go.

I sent out an elf to check on her, just to grab a clue and spread the word to see if Layla lives or not, but Lolita has not returned.
